Cooking with Grandma - Episode II

Welp friends, I spent pretty much the whole day at my Grandma's again. This time, we not only cooked a quiche, and not one, but TWO chocolate chip pound cakes! The cakes took a long time because we kept eating chocolate shavings from this obnoxiously large hunk of chocolate that my Uncle Matt brought my grandma, instead of putting it in our ingredients.

Before we started baking, my grandma showed me this box of blue wreath parts that she is going to assemble. This little blue airplane represents my grandpa who was/is a colonel in the Air Force.

These little bears represent all of my grandma's children. My mom is the one with the medal because she's a super-runner, and competitive like a mo-fo. I did not inherit this gene.

Here's a little treat my grandma made for the birds in her yard.

My mom, Grace and Dani all came over to partake in the delicious meal we made. That mop-looking amorphous thing in Grace's arm is my mom's dog Toodles.......enough said.

Finally! Proof that we actually made those cakes I was talking about earlier. I don't know if this blog is turning into a food blog...probably not since I am definitely not a master chef...more of a master eater.

The lovely sunset...

The genes that I did inherit from my mom were the wacky ones.

Theresa bought us a little tree! As I was getting out ornaments I discovered this little Santa. For some reason my grandma likes to keep a detailed catalog of all her things, and since she gave me this as a gift I also got the specifics....in case anyone were to ask me where it was from....or what year it was purchased in.

More Christmas tree pics soon to follow. Tomorrow is our 2nd wedding anniversary :)

  2. Agreed Jenny! This girl cracks me up. Living with her is like having a stand up comic just hanging out in your house all the time....without the awkwardness of that actually happening. I laugh constantly. :)
