Blur

Not too many adventures today before work, just bought some yummy vegan pizza and dropped off the dry-cleaning.

But I did take some blurry pictures!!!

A cute little gnome that hides in my jewelry cabinet.

How I think my hair looks today.....

....how it actually looks....

They'll probably make me put it up at work, but I'm going to try and get away with it for as long as possible....fight the power!!!

Have a goodnight everyone!

Shiloh: The Lion, The Horse, and The Wardrobe

Ok, so there's no Lion or Wardrobe, just lots more horsey pics!

Enjoy!

Wandering horses taking shelter from the sprinkling rain.

Wishes practicing some jumps.

Grace loving Spur.

Goat!

I braided Wishes' forlock.

Beware Grace, that goat has the devil's eyes!!

See what I mean? AAAAAHHHH!!!

This donkey grew special curly mane to shield it's eyes so it would never make direct eye contact with the goat.

My sis-in-law Kadi, a true bad ass equestrian.

Yours truly, I decided to ride bareback because I'm a giant, and the stirrups we had were for a child.

Every time I see this picture I laugh. I mean, I'm just too big for this poor horse. Also, I'm pretty sure this is right after I had just fallen off after Wishes took two steps.

Then Dani had to show me up and trot on Wishes, bareback.

And then Grace had to show us both up and ride bareback by herself! (See below)

It started to rain a little harder so we called it a day, as did these mini burros.

A lovely rainbow as we were leaving!

Goodnight all! See you tomorrow!

Shiloh

!!WARNING!!

Tonight's adventures will contain pictures of kids, vegan food, horses, animals, and a shit-ton of manure.

Pun intended.

Because Dani and Grace said they weren't going to eat anything at the Go Raw cafe, my mom took them to The Coffe Bean first. Grace showed me some of her money.

Back at our house, waiting for Kadi to show up, spontaneous piggyback riding took place.

Inside the Go Raw cafe. Look how colorful it is!

My little sis Grace enjoying a strawberry banana smoothie.

My mom, Kadi and I all enjoyed a Purple Burrito.

Outside the cafe Grace and Dani spotted some ducks.

Even though it was rainy today we all decided to go out to Shiloh. This is the cloudy, twisty, mountain path you have to take to get there.

We've been going to Shiloh for about....4 years now, I think? Shiloh is a horse rescue founded by beautiful equestrian, animal saving bad-ass Jill Curtis and her late husband, the great actor Tony Curtis.

It is located about an hour outside of Las Vegas in Sandy Valley.

To learn more about it, visit

and be sure to read Jill's blog!

Dani and Grace always hold hands.

This is the welcoming committee Spur and Currycomb. Spur is the black and grey dog, and you will never, NEVER meet a friendlier canine. I mean, the dog just loves people.

A big, sleepy pig.

Curry, who was surprisingly not at Spur's side.

There are about a dozen horses, and other animals who freely roam Shiloh. This is Charlie.

Despite the dozens of horses, Grace's favorite animal was this friendly turkey. I had no idea turkeys could be so sweet, but Grace and the bird 'talked' with one another for many minutes.

Close to an old horse.

Another old guy....or girl....

And where was Grace?......

.....still with the turkey....

This is my mom's 6 year old horse Wishes. My mom adopted Wishes when she was 6 months old from Shiloh. Wishes' mother was a horse named Dream that Jill rescued from a feedlot while Dream was pregnant! We are eternally grateful that she did so :)

Here's Wishes starting to take off!!!

I have a ton more pictures of our day with Wishes and the other animals at Shiloh....but I think it's time for bed.

Goodnight friends!!

A Fine Wine

When Ken and I were at Whole Foods the other day, right at the checkout they had a display that caught my eye!

This is the wine we served at our wedding! It's a syrah called Penelope. My wedding colors were black, white, and purple accents. So a black and white polka-dot wine bottle with a girl dancing in a dress of the same color scheme was irresistable. It didn't hurt that I thought it also tasted delicious (those who know me know that I love sugary drinks, so to like a wine that much is a big deal, haha).

I wanted to show you my 3 item Saver's haul, but I'm sooooo tired (and I already wore two of them). Tomorrow, I promise!

Have a goodnight all!!
