Sicky

Last night while leaving work I got super achey. Then when I got home, my body FREAKED OUT. I got super hot, but I made Ken dress me like a big baby in some warm clothes. I passed out and slept for 11 hours.

I still feel like crap, but my mama is going to bring me some coffee. Thanks mama!

And these little guys cheer me up

Sorry for the lame post guys. See you all tomorrow!

Rodents of Unusual Size

Of Unusually SMALL size that is!!!

I distracted my little brother and sister for a bit while my mom ran out to get Grace's Christmas present...

I braided Grace's hair earlier, while my mom returned (secretly) with not one, but two hamsters!

Here they are chillin' in their little box while I assembled what was probably the most difficult habitat in exsistence. I've never owned a hamster, but building a place for them to live is like completing Calculus....which I've also never done.

The little guys seem to have appreciated my efforts though....

Shh! Everyone, it's a surprise. Now let's just hope that Dani and Grace don't start checking blogs.

Home Cookin' Adventures

Today's adventures were spent at home after a grocery store trip with Ophelia. So guess what, more boring food pictures! I spent the entire afternoon cookin these yummy vegetarian dishes:

Cheesy Vegetable Risotto and...

Magliati....? with cherry tomatoes....

Now that I've stuffed myself I think it's time for a little pass out. Important interview tomorrow! Everybody say some prayers and think good thoughts please :)

FAIL!!!!

So I nerdyblogstalk this adorable, witty, fashion blogger named Cammila Collar at www.dresseduplikealady.blogspot.com. Although we have completely different body types, I decided to mimic her outfit today since it was my day off and I didn't have to wear my black uniform. So, here's Cammila:

I know, awesome.

Here's  me:

FAIL.
I went with Ken's sweater instead because the cute flannel shirts I bought him seem to have gone missing.....:(

Today's adventures took Theresa and I to Saver's...where what might be the most unflattering series of photographs taken of me...were..taken...But I'm going to post them anyway to show you my Saver's haul!

First off, Theresa and I considered purchasing this art. You can see why.

What the hell am I doing???!!!
Positive note though: that white blouse behind me is a Laundry by Shelli Segel which retailed at $195.00.....got it for $7.

Close your mouth!

When we got home, I chopped up this Cobb salad. Then I tried to make gnocchi with potatoes that weren't mashed...FAIL.

There's always tomorrow friends.

Tilted Brunch

All of today's pictures are going to be a bit off-center and weird since I was hurrying to sit down and eat at brunch. They'll also be a bit grainy because it was dark. Sorry photo-critics. Get off my back!

Here's everyone enjoying the surprise dessert we made yesterday...Lemon Hazelnut Tiramisu! Look at my Grandma, that woman will not take a candid picture, or will she?....see below...

My lovely Melancon family singing for their captive audience member....

Of course, the family Sunday brunch favorite, mimosas after coffee.

Alright friends! Off to work, and then a work Christmas party!!! See you all tomorrow, "God willing." As my grandma likes to say.

Boom. Devoured.

Well, first off, I'm rushing off to work as usual. Let me just show you the tutorial I tried to use to do my hair yesterday:

Dang, that's tiny. Click on the picture to see it better. Anywho, this is how my hair turned out:

FAIL.

After working a whopping 5 hours last night :/(sarcasm face), I decided I wanted to make din din. I didn't even have to go to the store because we had all the ingredients!
You just chop up an onion and three potatoes, saute them in some olive oil, then bake that ish with some tomatoes and oregano on top! Boom. Devoured.

Grandma, Grace, and I completed what might be the world record for fastest assembled dessert. It's a surprise for brunch tomorrow but I bet you can all guess what it is!

Love you all, God bless, and I'll see ya tomorrow!

Perks :)

Sorry for the late post everyone! I didn't want to wake up today and then it was off to work, where I actually got to stay longer than 3 hours at.

One of the perks of being a photographer is going to school with other photographers. Then getting those other photographers to be your friend. Then, after you graduate, using your teacher's photo studio to take pictures of yourself...just for fun.

That is exactly what my friend, Wade Vandervort, and I did a few weeks ago. Since I dyed my hair blonde and I'm thick as butter I thought to myself, 'Self...who else do we know that's blonde and has a body with more curves than corkscrew....?" And my self said "Duh, this lady..."

So we tried to do a Marilyn Monroe inspired shoot, didn't really happen since my hair is too long and Wade wasn't into it (creative conflicts), but here are the results :

Wade called the second pic (where you can't see my face) 'Goldie', and although a Sin City hottie isn't what I was imagining in my head, I'll definitely take the comparison!

Thank you to my dear friend Wade for taking so much time in his schedule to fulfill one of my whims, and to Checko Salgado for letting us use his studio.

Oh and if anyone wants to hire Wade I completely recommend him. Check out his website www.wadevandervort.com, the photographs he has there are very artistic and look nothing like the one's here, but he is excellent at both!
